- The odds are in for the 2017-18 NBA MVP and a pair of Sixers are in the mix. Joel Embiid's odds are 50/1 while Ben Simmons' are 66/1, according to Bovada. Russell Westbrook is the frontrunner at 7/2.
- Odds Frank Ntilikina will be the Knicks' starting point guard on Opening Night of the 2017-18 season: 9/2. Orlando Magic: Can anyone shoot from deep? Orlando was the NBA's second-worst three-point shooting team last year and did little to address the issue in the offseason.
- NBA.com contributor Michael C. Wright made a note regarding Lillard and his progression in this MVP race to what Russell Westbrook did in his 2016-17 season, and even mentions that Westbrook wasn.

Westbrook deserves to be the favorite, but as you can see it is a wide open field with no real huge favorites outside of Westbrook.
Exacta bet calculator. An Exacta bet in horse racing is the wager placed on which horses which will finish the race first and second, in the correct order. What is the Minimum Stake on an Exacta Bet? The minimum stake is usually $1 for an exacta bet, although some tracks do have a $2 minimum.
While injuries and a number of unforeseen circumstances will ultimately shape this race throughout the season, it is fun to project at this point to see who will win what seems to be the most prestigious individual award in sports.
In my opinion, Durant seems to be the safest bet, with Leonard as a close second. If I were a betting man (which full disclosure I am), there are three people I would throw a few shekels on: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Chris Paul and John Wall.
The Greek Freak put up MVP caliber stats last season for an eastern conference playoff team and if he takes another leap this season, say 26-8-8 and the Bucks can win 50 games it would be easy to make a compelling case for him.
John Wall quietly puts up MVP caliber stats as well, he averaged 23.1 points and 10.7 assists last season, and if no one has a ridiculous season like Westbrook or Harden did last year and he replicates that or improves upon it with a team that gets the No. 1 seed in the east let's say, that could be enough for an MVP.

Chris Paul is such a domineering force and leader. If Harden learns to play around Paul and make life even easier for himself and if Paul has a highly efficient 20 and 11 season for a 55 to 60 win team in Houston, voters could absolutely think he deserves to be rewarded for his season and his hall of fame caliber career.
Here's to another great season and another awesome MVP race.
Can anyone beat Harden to the 2018 MVP Award? The race to the top for the NBA's MVP award is one that typically goes into overdrive at this time of year. From the start of the season, all those months ago, James Harden has been the man everyone has to beat, and few have looked likely to do so.
All that was thrown up in the air in early January when Harden was sidelined with a hamstring strain and missed seven straight games. However, when he returned to action on January 18 and saw the Rockets to another comfortable win over the Timberwolves, the natural balance of things appeared to have been restored.
Sportsbooks and gamblers taking noteThese days, there is more resting on the MVP award than the simple matter of kudos and promotional deals. Online betting sites and sportsbooks like Online Casino Bluebook say they see as much gambling interest in 'specials' such as who will win the MVP, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year, as they do in which teams will win a match or make the playoffs.

So is the MVP award Harden's for the taking? He has certainly returned to the position of hot favorite, with bookmakers offering odds of around 1/3 on. But nothing is guaranteed in sport, and those thinking outside the box and willing to stake their money on their convictions could still get the last laugh. Here are the other main contenders.
LeBron JamesWhen Harden's injury-hit the headlines, there was a brief period when James became the favorite to scoop the MVP award. He remains the one player who has a real chance of still snatching it. James recently became the seventh and youngest player in NBA history to hit the 30,000 career points milestone, and at the same time, the Cavs have turned around their early January losing streak and got back into winning ways. Anything is possible, and bookmakers are quoting James at 3/1 for the MVP.
Giannis AntetokounmpoThe Greek superstar exemplifies everything that is good about sport. While his talent on the court is undeniable, it is the impact he has had with fans, particularly in the Greek community, that has been so wonderful to see. The Milwaukee Bucks have had a so-so season, that would have been far worse without Antetokounmpo's star quality. The bookmakers are quoting 14/1, and realistically, the MVP title is unlikely this year, but he is still just 23, and his time will come.
Kevin DurantThe Golden State Warriors are looking like the team to beat, and Durant has played as pivotal a role in their success as anyone. However, his off-court comments do not do the 29-year-old small forward any favors. When Clint Capela joshed that the Rockets were better than the Warriors, a wiser soul might have let his on-court actions do the talking. Instead, Durant launched into an expletive-ridden counteroffensive. The bookmakers still give him an outside shot at MVP, with most offering around 20/1.
